Privacy policy

Calm Coins is a free budgeting app. We built it to be private by default: we never connect to your bank, we don't show ads, and we never sell or share your data for marketing. This page explains, in plain language, what we store and why.

What we store

• Your account: name, email address and a securely hashed password (we can't see your password).
• What you enter: accounts, transactions, budgets, debts, subscriptions, categories and settings. If you import a bank statement, the file is read in your browser and only the rows you approve are saved.
• Sign-in sessions: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
• Problem reports: if you report an issue, we store your message plus the page you were on, your browser, screen size and theme. No financial data is attached.

How we use it

Only to run Calm Coins for you: show your budget, keep you signed in, send account emails, and fix problems. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Services we use

• Email (Brevo): sends account emails such as the confirmation link. Brevo receives your email address and name.
• Donations (PayPal): if you choose to donate, PayPal processes the payment. We never see your card details.
• Google sign-in (optional): if you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us.
• Analytics (optional): we may use privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics (Umami) to count page visits and a few anonymous events, such as “sign-up completed”. It never includes amounts, categories, notes or other financial details.
• Hosting: Calm Coins runs on our own server, where your data is stored.

Your choices and rights

• You can view and edit your data in the app at any time.
• You can ask us to export or permanently delete your account and data — email support@calmcoins.com.
• If you live in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion and objection, and you can complain to your data protection authority.

Demo accounts

If you try the demo, we create a temporary account filled with sample data. It's deleted automatically within 24 hours.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the date above.
